“Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him when he saw that the city was given over to idols. Therefore he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and with the Gentile worshipers, and in the marketplace daily with those who happened to be there.” — Acts 17:16-17
Near the end of Paul’s second missionary journey he arrived in Athens, where his heart broke because the city was totally given over to Idolatry. God provoked his spirit and he began to reason with anyone he could find. Some mocked him, others wanted to talk more with him, still others believed him and joined him in his mission to proclaim the Gospel.
Paris, much like Athens, is a city given over to idolatry. Although Paris has a population of 12 million people, only 1.6% of the population professes to be Evangelical Christian–which means that 98.4% of the people we meet will not know the Lord. Our desire is to reach one of the least evangelized nations and cities on the planet, meeting them where they are: in the marketplace, town squares, Universities, Café’s and Metros (or wherever they may be), and reason with them clearly proclaiming the gospel of Christ. Our desire is to be part of a new French revolution as Jesus Christ revolutionizes the hearts of the French people.
Furthermore, our goal is to rally the body of Christ in Prescott drawing upon the many gifts and talents of our congregation to encourage, support and further the ministry that God has begun.
The trip is going to cost $2600 and will be from October 1st-13th. If you are interested in getting involved, whether by going on the trip or by helping prepare the ministry that will go on there, please fill out the contact form HERE.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday, May 20th @ 5:30 p.m. at Calvary Prescott.
