Planted in 2021 when God called one of our own pastors home to Brazil. Calvary Peruíbe teaches the Bible verse by verse on the coast of São Paulo, and we go, give, and pray alongside them.
Pastor Ewerton Muniz was born and raised in Brazil but moved to the U.S. to attend Bible college, where he developed a deep passion for worship and ministry. After college, he served as a worship pastor at multiple churches before settling at Calvary Prescott, where he faithfully led worship and served as a pastor for four years.
From the very beginning of his ministry, Pastor Ewerton felt called to return to Brazil to plant a church dedicated to teaching the Bible verse by verse. In 2021, he, his wife Natasha, and their daughter Gabriella followed God's call to Peruíbe, Brazil, where they planted Calvary Peruíbe. What began as a small gathering has now grown into a thriving congregation that has outgrown the space it meets in.
Calvary Peruíbe is not a project we fund from a distance. It is a sister church, led by a pastor who served in this body and followed God's call home, and we stay connected to it by going, giving, and praying.

Built up in love.
Two weeks in Peruíbe, built around three gatherings: a women's conference, a men's conference, and Calvary Peruíbe's anniversary service. In between, the team teaches discipleship classes most evenings and joins the church for outreach in the surrounding community.
Though we are not there with them, we will be with them in prayer. Each day below is something specific to pray for. The team will be posting from Brazil throughout the two weeks.
Two days in transit. The team arrives at Calvary Peruíbe on Thursday evening for a fellowship night with the church.
A full day, morning and afternoon, for the women of Calvary Peruíbe and the surrounding churches.
Calvary Peruíbe marks another year since the church was planted. The team serves the service and celebrates with the congregation.
Morning and afternoon sessions at Colônia Veneza, Instituto Relfe, and Tribe, with discipleship classes at the church each evening. [TODO-1: one short line explaining these three.]
A day off in the middle of the two weeks. Pray they actually rest.
A full day, morning and afternoon, for the men of Calvary Peruíbe and the surrounding churches.
The team's last Sunday with the church before heading home.
Two more days in transit. Pray for safe flights and smooth connections.
We are commissioning the team during our Sunday morning services, three days before they fly out. Come stand with them, meet the people going, and pray over them before they leave.
Photos, video, and updates go up while the team is on the ground, September 30 through October 13. The same posts run on both accounts, so follow whichever one you already use. There is no reason to check both.

Pray for Pastor Ewerton, Natasha, and Gabriella. Pray for the believers at Calvary Peruíbe, and for safety, health, and clear opportunity for the team while they are in Brazil.
The schedule above lists what each day holds, so there is something specific to bring before the Lord every day they are gone.
Calvary Peruíbe has outgrown the space it meets in. Our congregation is helping fund a permanent church home for them in Peruíbe. You can read about the building project and give toward it directly.
